Not too long ago, apartments charged a monthly rent and the only surcharges might be for a garage or pool view. I hear that now they're charging for water, trash, general location and other items. Additionally, most want a 60 day move out notice instead of 30. Their month to month rates after a lease were maybe $50/month higher. Now, I hear of $200-300/month more! I’m hearing stories of annual renewals increasing $1000 or more!
Why do you rent?
